Special Mother's Day Service

Animation

We have been practicing our animation skills. We have started out and tried to make some simple moving films. Here is an example. As we get better we will put more examples on.

Mother's Day

Tomorrow is our Mother's Day sevice. We have been working hard to get things ready for you. This is a little sneak peek at some of the writing we have been doing.

Outdoor Learning

When the weather got a little nicer we put our shoes and took our learning to the outdoors! We chalked numbers on the playground and played races where we had to find the correct number. We are working on numbers up to 20 now!

5 Senses - Hearing

We learned about our sense of hearing. We made our own telephones using plastic cups and string. the sound vibrated along the string to the other end.

PE

During PE we have been practicing our ball skills. We were learning bounce passes and chest passes. We used these skills to play bench ball. we had to pass and move to try and get the ball to our team mates.

5 Senses - Sight

We created an experiment to see what happened to the pupils of our eye in the light and dark. We used a torch in a dark room to see what happens. Here we are hard at work. We even went to the office to try out our experiment there!

In numeracy we have been learning how to tell the time. We have been learning o'clock. We have used clocks and the smartboard to help us do this.

 

 

This week is science week in St James's! To mark the start of science week primary 1 made their own scientists glasses. They used their cutting skills to cut out the correct shape. Our focus for science week is the senses. Visit the blog throughout the week to see what experiments we have been doing.
